AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ASSIST TELEVISION TRANSMISSION SITES IN DIGITAL CONVERSION EFFORTS PURSUANT TO FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred seventy thousand dollars ($270,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of eastern New Mexico university for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to facilitate the compliance of television transmission sites with federal digital-conversion requirements through electrical service rate assistance and digital software licensing fees. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
