AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO TO ESTABLISH A GRADUATE PROGRAM IN BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Six hundred fifty-five thousand seven hundred eighty dollars ($655,780) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to establish a graduate program in biomedical engineering. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
