AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A TRANSITIONAL HOMELESS SHELTER AND OUTREACH SERVICES FOR VETERANS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the veterans' services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to oversee the construction of a transitional veterans' homeless shelter in Las Vegas and for an outreach program for that shelter. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
