AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SERVICE TO SUPPORT TRIBAL EXTENSION CENTERS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 for the cooperative extension service for base funding support of New Mexico state university tribal cooperative extension centers that will provide intercultural youth programs and activities, health and wellness education and natural resource and agricultural education that are currently not available in the targeted New Mexico tribal communities. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
