AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND COLLEGE PREPARATORY MENTORING PROGRAMS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO SCHOOL OF LAW FOR STUDENTS IN THE ALBUQUERQUE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to fund college preparatory mentoring programs at the university of New Mexico school of law for students in the sixth through twelfth grades in the Albuquerque public school system. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
