AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A SUMMER SCIENCE PROGRAM AT THE NEW MEXICO INSTITUTE OF MINING AND TECHNOLOGY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to provide scholarships to cover the tuition for New Mexico high school students attending a summer science program. The program is intended to recruit New Mexico students considering careers in a scientific field. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
