AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR FAMILY, INFANT AND TODDLER PROGRAMS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five million five hundred thousand dollars ($5,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to fund phase two of the department's cost study recommendations for family, infant and toddler early intervention services, to improve staff recruitment and retention, to reimburse providers for services rendered without compensation and to expand quality services to additional children who are entitled to services. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
