AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO INSTITUTE OF MINING AND TECHNOLOGY FOR A CARBON SEQUESTRATION PROJECT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to provide matching money for the petroleum recovery research center's federal carbon sequestration project. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
