AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR RURAL PUBLIC LIBRARIES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million four hundred thousand dollars ($1,400,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 for distribution in equal amounts to all rural full public libraries that received fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) or less in fiscal year 2008 from all local government sources. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
