AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CULTURAL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT TO CELEBRATE TRADITIONAL NORTHERN NEW MEXICO HISPANIC AND MEXICAN FOLK MUSIC.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the cultural affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to celebrate and preserve traditional northern New Mexico Hispanic and Mexican folk music by sponsoring a statewide tour of traditional and contemporary musicians in concerts for the elderly, the homeless and children and by sponsoring educational workshops. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
