AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE TEACHING AND LEARNING ENVIRONMENT INITIATIVE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred eighty-four thousand dollars ($784,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to support the university of New Mexico's teaching and learning environment initiative to increase the percentage of minority faculty members and to support library programs that celebrate diversity. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
