SENATE BILL 72
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 1, line 11, strike "CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT", and insert in lieu thereof "CRIMINAL CHILD ABUSE".
2. On page 1, line 14, before "INVESTIGATIONS", insert "CRIMINAL".
3. On page 1, line 14, strike "CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT" and insert in lieu thereof "CRIMINAL CHILD ABUSE".
4. On page 1, line 18, before "CHILD", insert the following:
"A new section of Chapter 30, Article 6 NMSA 1978 is enacted to read:
"[NEW MATERIAL]".
5. On page 2, between lines 1 and 2, insert the following new paragraph:
"(3) the secretary of Indian affairs or the secretary's designee;".
6. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.
7. On page 2, line 10, strike "health".
8. On page 2, line 12, strike "health" and insert in lieu thereof "children, youth and families".
9. On page 3, line 10, strike "child abuse and neglect" and insert in lieu thereof "criminal child abuse".
10. On page 4, line 3, after the period, insert a closing quotation mark.
11. On page 4, line 4, before "MULTIDISCIPLINARY", insert the following:
"A new section of Chapter 30, Article 6 NMSA 1978 is enacted to read:
"[NEW MATERIAL]".
12. On page 4, line 11, after "designee", insert "who shall be an attorney licensed to practice in New Mexico".
13. On page 4, line 16, strike "that" and insert in lieu thereof "if one".
14. On page 4, line 25, strike "medical personnel" and insert in lieu thereof "a provider".
15. On page 5, line 1, strike "and neglect".
16. On page 5, line 7, before "investigation", insert "criminal".
17. On page 5, lines 7 and 8, strike "child abuse and neglect" and insert in lieu thereof "criminal child abuse".
18. On page 5, lines 13 and 14, strike "investigate child abuse and neglect" and insert in lieu thereof "conduct criminal investigations of criminal child abuse" and after the period, insert a closing quotation mark.
19. On page 5, line 15, after the period, strike the remainder of the line and insert in lieu thereof the following:
"A new section of Chapter 30, Article 6 NMSA 1978 is enacted to read:
"[NEW MATERIAL] PROTOCOL FOR CHILD ABUSE CASES".
20. On page 5, line 17, before "investigations", insert "criminal".

28. On page 6, line 13, after the period, insert "The protocol shall not be construed to supersede or amend any state law or protocol or rule of any state agency.".

30. On page 7, lines 18 and 19, strike "child abuse and neglect" and insert in lieu thereof "criminal child abuse".
