AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO SUPPORT THE HEALTH EDUCATION CULTURAL COMPETENCE TASK FORCE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Sixty thousand dollars ($60,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the higher education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to continue the task force on cultural competence in health education appointed by the department to make recommendations on specific cultural competence curricula for each health education field offered at New Mexico public post-secondary educational institutions. Money from the appropriation may be expended on per diem and mileage expenses of task force members and other expenses related to task force activities. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
