AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR RESEARCH ON MECHANICAL HARVESTING AND GENETIC ENGINEERING OF CHILE AT NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 and subsequent fiscal years for the college of agriculture and home economics to research mechanical harvesting and genetic engineering of chile. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
