AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR EXPANSION OF THE COMMUNICATIONS DISORDERS PROGRAM TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTS IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to expand the communications disorders program to increase the number of speech-language pathologists in the public schools. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
