AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY TO ESTABLISH A DAM SAFETY CENTER.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to establish a dam safety center to provide research, training and professional services in flood control dam maintenance and operation. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
