FOR THE REVENUE STABILIZATION AND TAX POLICY COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE COMPUTER-ASSISTED MASS APPRAISAL SYSTEMS STATEWIDE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Six million dollars ($6,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the taxation and revenue department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 for the property tax division to establish a statewide network of computer-assisted mass appraisal systems so that the systems are available to all county assessors and state agencies needing access to the data and functions of that network. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
