AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A PILOT PROGRAM RELATING TO THE AUTHENTICITY OF NATIVE AMERICAN ARTS AND CRAFTS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the cultural affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to establish a pilot program to educate artisans and consumers in the authenticity of Native American arts and crafts and to promote Native American artisans through certification of Native American arts and crafts. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
