FOR THE INDIAN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR TRIBAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SERVICES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Four hundred fifty thousand dollars ($450,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the Indian affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to provide funding for tribal emergency management services in the following amounts:

                (1) one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for the ten southern Indian pueblos;

                (2) one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for the eight northern Indian pueblos;

                (3) seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) for the Jicarilla Apache Nation; and

                (4) seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) for the Mescalero Apache Tribe.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
