AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CLEAN, DEODORIZE AND SANITIZE COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL REFUSE CONTAINERS TO ASSIST MUNICIPAL AND COUNTY GOVERNMENTS IN COMPLIANCE WITH 2008 FEDERAL REGULATIONS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of environment for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to clean, deodorize and sanitize commercial and residential refuse containers to assist municipal and county governments in compliance with 2008 federal regulations. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
