AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A PILOT PROGRAM TO PROVIDE GRADUATION PREPARATION COUNSELING FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS AND JUNIORS IN THE LOS LUNAS PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 for a pilot program to provide graduation preparation counseling for high school seniors and juniors in the Los Lunas public school district in order to ensure that the students have the correct number of credit hours to graduate. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
