AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR RURAL PUBLIC LIBRARIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three million seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($3,750,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the rural library development fund for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 and subsequent fiscal years for distribution in equal amounts to each of the existing rural libraries as a grant-in-aid. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
