AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE FOR ELECTRONIC FILING OF CAMPAIGN REPORTS AND AN INTERNET-BASED, SEARCHABLE DATABASE TO ACCESS AND SEARCH FOR INFORMATION IN CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORTS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred seventy-six thousand dollars ($176,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of the secretary of state for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to enhance the usability of the secretary of state's political finance reporting system, including electronic filing capabilities, electronic signature authentication and an internet-based, searchable database to access and search for information in campaign finance reports. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
