AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO FOR A RURAL HEALTH CARE OUTREACH PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million eight hundred thousand dollars ($1,800,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of the New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to support, in partnership with the New Mexico state university cooperative extension, a comprehensive rural health care outreach program, including health extension rural offices, to address more effectively local health priorities. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
