AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO AID VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred twelve thousand dollars ($412,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the veterans' services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to establish a center to serve men and women veterans and their families at a rape crisis and trauma center in operation in Santa Fe for thirty-four years. The center shall provide therapy for veterans and their families, trauma treatment, support groups and staff training for those serving such veterans and compilation and analysis of data on the needs of New Mexico veterans. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
