AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A STUDY OF WAYS TO INCREASE NEW MEXICANS' ACCESS TO FRESH FOODS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 for the college of agriculture and home economics at New Mexico state university to conduct a study to develop alternative strategies through which state funds may be used to increase means of access of New Mexicans to sources of fresh foods. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
