A MEMORIAL

REQUESTING THAT THE SENATE HONOR PETE CAMPOS BY NAMING THE NEW

STUDENT CENTER AT NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY THE "PETE

CAMPOS STUDENT CENTER".

WHEREAS, Dr. Pete Campos has represented district eight in

the New Mexico senate for sixteen years; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Campos has chosen to live his life in and

serve the people of northeastern New Mexico; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Campos has a diverse background in academics,

business, community service and other disciplines and uses his

knowledge and experience to assist others; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Campos has devoted his career to helping

others unselfishly and encouraging New Mexicans to achieve

their goals and aspirations; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Campos serves as a positive role model as a

businessman, educator and community leader; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Campos inspires others by never giving up and

always giving life his best effort; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Campos considers education a high priority

and encourages others to pursue higher education and become

lifelong learners; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Campos is happily married to Lori Anne Ludi

Campos and is the proud father of Peter Campos;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE

OF NEW MEXICO that the board of regents of New Mexico highlands

university be requested to name the new student center and

cafeteria at New Mexico highlands university the "Pete Campos

Student Center".
