A MEMORIAL

SUPPORTING CREATION OF THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR HEALTH POLICY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO.

 

     WHEREAS, the Robert Wood Johnson foundation is the nation's largest foundation focused on health care; and

     WHEREAS, good policy is necessary to design and sustain a health care system that serves New Mexico's residents; and

     WHEREAS, the good health of New Mexico residents is one of the principal concerns of the legislature; and

     WHEREAS, the university of New Mexico trains many health care providers; and

     WHEREAS, the university of New Mexico educates experts in the economics of health policy; and

     WHEREAS, the university of New Mexico educates experts in the sociology of transforming and disseminating health policy; and

     WHEREAS, the university of New Mexico educates experts in the political science of translating health policy into law and practice;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the university of New Mexico be commended for its efforts to create a national center for health policy at the university of New Mexico with funding from the Robert Wood Johnson foundation and other private donors; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico.
