committees of the NM Legislature. The LFC does not assume responsibility for the accuracy of these reports

if they are used for other purposes.

Current FIRs (in HTML & Adobe PDF formats) are a vailable on the NM Legislative Website (legis.state.nm.us).

Adobe PDF versions include all attachments, whereas HTML versions may not. Previously issued FIRs and

attachments may be obtained from the LFC in Suite 101 of the State Capitol Building North.

Senate Floor Amendment #1 strikes the word “JOINT" from the bill’s title and the joint

resolution thus becomes a senate resolution and inserts January 15, 2008 as the resolution’s

effective date.

Synopsis of Original Bill

Senate Joint Resolution 1 proposes to amend rules of the Senate so that “the question on the final

passage of every bill, resolution and memorial shall be taken by yeas and nays, which shall be

entered upon the journal and, within one day of taking the question, be publicly available on the

legislature's internet web site.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

Any costs attendant to implementing the proposed change should be minimal.

WHAT WILL BE THE CONSEQUENCES OF NOT ENACTING THIS BILL
