Synopsis of SPAC Amendment
The Senate Public Affairs Committee amendment to Senate Bill 1132 changes the appropriation
from the Public Education Department to the New Mexico Sports Authority. The amendment
also changes the focus of the bill from semiprofessional basketball games to professional
basketball games.
Synopsis of Original Bill
Senate Bill 1132 appropriates $ 100 thousand from the general fund to the Public Education
Department for the purpose of purchasing and distributing tickets to school students for
semiprofessional basketball games.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $100 thousand contained in this bill is a nonrecurring expense to the
general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year
