SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 963 appropriates $400,000 from the General Fund to the Board of Regents of the
University of New Mexico (UNM) for manpower development.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $400,000 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY08 shall revert to the
general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
The Taos Branch of the University of New Mexico (UNM-Taos) seeks to develop and
implement a partnership with local schools and community groups for manpower development.
Through collaboration with local schools and community groups, UNM-Taos could increase
enrollment for vocational, occupational, and technical educational programs available through
concurrent enrollment to high school juniors and seniors.
