SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 934 appropriates $300.0 thousand from the general fund to the Indian Affairs
Department 2008 to initiate a statewide pilot project for a sovereign nation service corps
(“Corps") that provides tribal youth with an opportunity to pursue higher education.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $300 thousand contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general
fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of Fiscal Year 2008 shall
revert to the general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
Indian Affairs reports AmeriCorps, a program component of the Corporation for National and
