SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 758 appropriates $500 thousand from the general fund to the Economic Development
Department to support film and media employment training and student productions.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $500 thousand contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general
fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall
revert to the general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
According to MMFO, this bill supplements funding allocated from the Media Fund for specific
on-the-job training with skilled, seasoned mentors, working on student or small New Mexico
films. This program works in conjunction with the Film Technicians’ Training Programs based at
