SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 708 appropriates $400,000 from the general fund to the Board of Regents of New
Mexico Highlands University for expenditure in FY 2008 and subsequent fiscal years to prepare,
compile and distribute bilingual education materials statewide for students in kindergarten
through 12

. Also this fund will be utilized to produce a monthly periodical, to digitalize
materials and to produce a weekly radio show. .
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $400,000 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY08 shall not revert to the
general fund.
