SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 632 appropriates $379,875 from the General Fund to the UNM Regents for
expenditure in FY 2008 to expand the International Education Initiative.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $379,875 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY 2008 shall revert to the
General Fund.
The UNM request for the New Mexico International Education Initiative included $94,875 for
Personnel (Recurring) and $285,000 for Expenses (Non-Recurring). The unexplained Expenses,
even if student assistance, should be classified as Recurring.
