SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 612 appropriates $190,000 from the General Fund to Eastern New Mexico University
(ENMU) for a faculty position in Aviation Science Technology to serve either the Portales or the
Roswell campus, and a faculty position in Emergency Medical Services Management at Eastern
New Mexico University Roswell (ENMU-R). Each faculty position will be funded at $95,000.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $190,000 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY08 shall revert to the
general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
Both of these programs are currently offered
at ENMU through the Aviation and Maintenance
Technology Program within the Business and Science Department and an Emergency Medical
Services (EMS) program which is an approved EMS Bureau program.
ENMU-Roswell's Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) program is the only FAA
