SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 550 appropriates $50,000 from the General Fund to HED for expenditure in FY 2008
to help defray the expenses of New Mexico Junior College (NMJC) for the cost of room and
board for the Southeastern New Mexico Law Enforcement Training Academy (SNMLETA).
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $50,000 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY 2008 shall revert to the
General Fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
The Southeastern New Mexico Law Enforcement Training Academy serves a specific purpose
for the public safety agencies in the state. The agencies sponsor cadets to come to NMJC and
