SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 405 appropriates $254,000 from the General Fund to the Board of Regents of the
University of New Mexico (UNM) to support the Chicano, Hispano, Mexicano Studies Program
at UNM.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $254,000 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY08 shall revert to the
General Fund.
HED reports that this request was submitted by UNM to the Department for review but is not
included in their funding recommendation for FY08. According to HED, the current program
budget of $130,662 is funded by UNM.
