SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 383 appropriates $150,000 from the General Fund to the Board of Regents of the
University of New Mexico (UNM) for the Natural High Program.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $150,000 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY 08 shall revert to the
General Fund.
Per HED, this proposal was not submitted by UNM to the Department for review and was not
included in their funding recommendation for FY08.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
HED states that the Natural High Program is a UNM-sponsored K-12 programs that consists of
youth outreach with a focus on middle school students. The mission of the Natural High Program
is to provide positive alternatives for at-risk youth through educational, arts, and recreational
