SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 252 appropriates $170,000 from the General Fund to the Board of Regents of New
Mexico Highlands University (NMHU) for the Center for Education and Study of Diverse
Populations (CESDP).
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $170,000 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY 08 shall revert to the
General Fund.
According to HED, NMHU submitted this proposal to the Department, but is not included in
their funding recommendation for FY08. Senate Bill 252 appropriates $170,000 whereas
NMHU's requested amount is $99,300. CESDP received a recurring appropriation in FY07
of $218,800
