SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 83 appropriates one million dollars ($1,000,000) from the general fund to Children,
Youth and Families Department to contract with ten domestic violence programs statewide
including programs in Artesia, Belen, Carlsbad, Deming, Gallup, Grants, Hobbs, Roswell, Silver
City and Albuquerque for shelter care, child and adolescent counseling, family counseling and
crisis intervention for victims of domestic violence and their children. Any expended balance at
the end of 2008 shall revert to the general fund. There is an emergency clause.
Senate Bill 83 appropriates $1 million ($1,000,000) from the general fund to Children, Youth
and Families Department for ten domestic violence programs statewide.
