SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 54 appropriates $910,000 from the General Fund to the Regents of NMHU for
expenditure in FY 2008 to fund the Practice Makes Perfect (PMP) program to prepare secondary
students for the next grade level and for college.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $910,000 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY 2008 shall revert to the
General Fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
According to PED, the proposed PMP program is building from the successes of the former
