Synopsis of Bill
Senate Memorial 50 requests the recognition of Brian Keith Urlacher, middle linebacker of the
Chicago Bears and former University of New Mexico (UNM) and Lovington High School
football star.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
House Memorial 50 states that:
•
Brian Urlacher, "Monster of the Midway", played in the 2007 Super Bowl Forty-One in
2007 and was the National Football League’s defensive player of the year in 2006;
•
Brian Urlacher, led the Lovington High School Wildcats to a 1995 class 3A
championship, and recently donated forty thousand dollars ($40,000) for the Lovington
High School weight room and shoes for all Lovington varsity players;
•
Brian Urlacher has provided for a $1,000,000 indoor practice facility at UNM;
•
Brian Urlacher has participated in charity basketball games in Lovington for the past
three years; and
•
Brian Urlacher also has held annual summer camps at UNM, speaks on behalf of the
UNM program, gave an early donation of $10,000 to the Lobo Club for the football
program and donated a $23,500 prize he won to the Special Olympics of New Mexico.
