SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Memorial 37 seeks to designate the area of the Rio Grande wild and scenic corridor, the
Taos plateau, and Punche valley as the Rio Grande Wildlife Conservation Area to provide future
generations of New Mexicans continuing opportunities to enjoy recreation, including hunting,
fishing, observing wildlife and experiencing solitude.
The Department of Game and Fish is to work with the US Bureau of Land Management and the
State Land Office to manage the area in to maintain the highest wildlife values possible under
multiple use and sustained yield management.
There is no appropriation attached to this legislation.
