SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 1292 appropriates $31,565 from the General Fund to the Local Government Division
of the Department of Finance and Administration for FY08 to fund a teen court program in Luna
County.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $31,565 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY08 shall revert to the
General Fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
Teen Courts work with youth in areas such as DWI prevention, substance abuse prevention and
counseling. The program offers alternatives such as community service for youth that have
committed misdemeanor crimes. Family involvement is encouraged.
