SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 1223 appropriates $100.0 for a music, visual, and performing arts education program
for youth in Truchas, Cordova, and Ojo Sarco.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $100.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY08 shall revert to the
General Fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
DFA reports that HB 1223 would fund the Truchas Arts Project (TAP), a summer enrichment
program operated out of the Truchas Services Center. TAP provides local artisan who teach the
children their individual crafts. The children are taught guitar, wood carving, weaving, working
with tin, and other cultural crafts.
