SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 1161 appropriates $25 thousand from the general fund to Cultural Affairs department
for contracting with artist to provide murals for the 300
th
anniversary of the Atrisco land grant
commemoration project.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $25 thousand contained in House Bill 1161 is a recurring expense to the
General Fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY08 shall
revert to the General Fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
The Atrisco neighborhood in Albuquerque is one of the city’s oldest sub-communities. House
Bill 622 from the 2006 legislative session appropriated ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for the
New Mexico national Hispanic cultural center to purchase and install equipment and furnishings
for the Atrisco tricentennial pictorial and artifact display in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county.
