SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 702 appropriates $50,000 from the General Fund to ALTSD for expenditure in FY08
to fund a pilot program extending hours for adult day care in San Miguel County to a full
workday.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $50,000 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY 2008 shall revert to the
General Fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
An Adult day care center is a facility required to be licensed pursuant to these regulations which
provides care, services and supervision to three (3) or more adults, who because of diminished
mental or physical capacity find it difficult to care for themselves in their own residence during
the day. An adult day care center may be located in any building which meets the applicable
state, local building, and safety codes.
