SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 625 appropriates $1,000,000 from the General Fund to the Board of Regents of the
University of New Mexico (UNM) for expenditure in FY08 to implement programs and support
services to enhance student-athlete retention and timely graduation rates at UNM.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $1,000,000 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund.
Establishment of programs without any other funding implies that this funding would be
recurring in order to continue this program beyond FY08. Any unexpended or unencumbered
balance remaining at the end of FY08 shall revert to the general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
