SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 562 appropriates $100 thousand from the general fund to the Human Services
Department to contract with a youth commission based in Las Vegas for program focused on
substance abuse and suicide prevention that involve training youth in government so they can
train peers in other communities.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $100 thousand contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general
fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY08 shall revert to
the general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
The Human Services Department and the Department of Health collaborated on the following
